About

A forensic group investigating fires, explosions, mechanical and electrical failures and escapes of fluid on land and at sea for insurers, loss adjusters, P&I clubs and solicitors, working from the United Kingdom and across Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. In the UK, managing director Lee Masson is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (BEng MSc CEng MIFireE) who has prepared expert reports for, and given evidence in, the Court of Session, the Sheriff Court and the English High Court; colleagues include Cliff Christie CSci CChem FRSC MIFireE and Dr Nadia Mofidi CEng FIMechE MIFireE. The Australasian practice began in 1997 as GKA Investigations Group and runs the Halliwell Forensic Laboratory at Leumeah in New South Wales, accredited by NATA to ISO/IEC 17025 (accreditation no. 20152) for fires and explosion investigations and flammable liquids — the only privately held Australian accreditation of that scope found. The UK practice builds on Zetetech Forensic Investigators, founded in 2009, and absorbed the team from Geoffrey Hunt & Partners LLP in 2023.
