The US arm of the international Holmes group, which began in New Zealand, providing structural and fire engineering from offices on the West Coast. Its fire engineers carry out performance-based fire engineering, including egress solutions and structural fire engineering. That work uses advanced finite element analysis of timber, steel and concrete structures in fire, to optimise fire resistance and remove unnecessary structural fire protection. The team has worked on performance-based submissions with authorities having jurisdiction, including for mass timber, modular and prefabricated buildings. Its staff include dedicated fire engineers and fire safety specialists.
