Huabi (华碧司法鉴定) is a private judicial appraisal and failure-analysis laboratory founded in 2006 out of the Fudan University Science Park, running licensed appraisal institutes in both Shanghai and Suzhou. The Shanghai institute holds judicial appraisal licence 310011137 from the Shanghai Bureau of Justice, with 火灾微量物证鉴定 and 易燃物质类鉴定 in its registered scope, four named licensed appraisers and CMA accreditation 230921341015. In January 2025 the Suzhou institute became the first institution ever licensed by the Jiangsu Department of Justice for 火灾痕迹鉴定, fire trace appraisal. Its fire and vehicle-fire opinions have been accepted by the courts, including a case reported in the Ministry of Justice national appraisal case library, and it is instructed by courts, procuratorates, arbitration commissions and insurers across more than thirty provinces and municipalities.
