About

A subsidiary of the International Code Council, issuing the evaluation reports a building official accepts as evidence that a product meets the code — fire-resistance-rated assemblies among them, and fire resistance is one of the divisions of its own testing arm. Accredited as a product certification body to ISO/IEC 17065 by ANAB, A2LA, the Standards Council of Canada and JAS-ANZ. It runs its own laboratories: a southwest facility at Bryan, Texas and a midwest laboratory opened at Elkhart, Indiana in August 2026. Listed as a certification body rather than an authority: a code official may rely on an ICC-ES report, but ICC-ES does not enforce the code.
