About

株式会社日本工学鑑定センター is Japan’s oldest private forensic-engineering practice, founded in 1982 by 中原輝文, formerly 主監 of the Osaka Prefectural Police 科学捜査研究所. It publishes a named roster of fire investigators drawn from career state forensic science: 山根晴夫 (元福岡県警察科学捜査研究所 物理科長, fire cases 1971–2001) leads building and vehicle fire work, 山野寛治 (元大阪府警察科学捜査研究所 所長) covers fire and explosion, 萩原隆一 (元科学警察研究所 法科学第二部長) fire and engineering, 草野三喜雄 (元警視庁捜査第一課 火災犯捜査係) arson, and 春田憲一 工学博士 and 小林良夫 工学博士 engineering and oil-residue chemistry. Its stated fire service is 火災原因の調査・究明, experimental analysis, and advice and 意見書 for court proceedings — opinions offered to assist the tribunal’s judgement, not displace it.
