About

Limotec was founded at Vichte in West Flanders on 28 December 1983 by Marc Osten and Danny Snauwaert and calls itself the largest local manufacturer in Belgium of fire, gas and carbon-monoxide detection — with research, development, production, sales, service and finance all on the one site, which is what distinguishes it from the country’s many detection distributors. It builds the C.I.E. MD-series fire alarm control panels and the MD780 gas and CO panel, and supplies XP95, SOTERIA, Series 65 and ORBIS detectors together with linear smoke, flame and aspirating detection. Its power supplies are certified to EN 54-4, it holds BOSEC product certification, and it works to ISO 9001:2015. It belongs to Halma plc’s infrastructure safety division and became the European centre of the AMPAC group in 2020.
